United Way of Central Georgia & Persons Banking Company
Since this is the first year that Persons Banking Company has participated in the United Way campaign. Jan Douglass, the bank’s campaign chair, said the bank didn’t set a goal for the 2020-2021 campaign.
“We wanted to see what type of participation we had. Next year we will know how to set the goal,” Jan said.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, the bank couldn’t hold many events to raise funds for the campaign.
“We had a visit from Brandi Rozier from United Way, but with COVID restrictions we didn’t want to have many meetings,” Jan said. “Next year we plan to have partner agencies speak to our teams and we will plan activities and contests between departments and offices.”
Persons Banking: Proud to Give Back
Jan said Persons gives back because its employees want to make a difference in their communities.
“We live and work in the communities we serve, and the only way to improve our lives is through the communities where we live,” said Persons Banking Company president Keith Beckham. “What better way to make a difference in our lives than by making a difference for the people in our communities. A rising tide raises all ships; let’s all work together to lift up our communities.”
He said Persons Banking Company not only gives to the United Way but also supports several local charities and provides financial education to its customers.
