About the Cantrell Center

Persons Banking Company (PBC):
Hi Tassie! Thanks for speaking with us today. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Tassie Cantrell (TC):
I have three grown children:  Betty (Miss America 2016, actor, singer, model, motivational speaker); Mikey (actor/singer in New York); and Sophia (student at UGA).

I received my bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Georgia and my master’s degree in physical therapy from Emory University.

I have extensive continuing education, including studies in rehabilitation of the back, neck and peripheral joints; proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation; postural restoration; and myofascial release/soft tissue mobilization.

I have been a long-time member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG). I also serve on the Board of Directors for Physical Therapy Provider Network (PTPN) and Quality Assurance for many years.

PBC:
Great! And how and why did you start your business?

TC:
After finishing physical therapy school, I worked at Emory University Hospital for four years and taught for the graduate program in physical therapy.

After working for a teaching hospital and totally revamping and directing a physical therapy program in Elberton, Ga., I knew I needed to be able to treat patients in an unencumbered environment.

So, after moving to Warner Robins, we opened the Cantrell Center for Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in 1992.

PBC:
And what do you enjoy most about owning your business?

TC:
I like the challenge of preserving a medical model that treats each patient individually while staying abreast of what’s available to our profession.

Every patient has unique needs and concerns and those are best addressed by the physical therapist one-on-one.  NO COOKIE-CUTTER treatments.

Doing Business in Central Georgia

PBC:
What do you enjoy most about owning a business in Central Georgia?

TC:
I enjoy being able to create a business environment that’s like a second home, a second family.  We take care of each other.  Since you spend one-third of your life at work, you might as well spend it with people you care about.

How has Persons Banking Company made doing business easier?

TC:
Persons Banking Company stepped up to help us out during a time of crisis when COVID first hit.  They were there to provide accurate information as it pertains to our specific business needs.

Persons Banking Company simplified the process and they were instrumental in allowing us to continue our business uninterrupted during COVID.

Wrapping Up
